The exact answer to this question can be highly variable due to your age and level of health. In general, it has been suggested by numerous medical studies that a daily exercise session is needed in order to keep your body healthy. This exercise session doesn't have to be particularly strenuous, and can even be done by walking around the block for about thirty minutes. The rule of thumb is to get at least 30 minutes of physical movement of some kind in order to keep your body in working and healthy order. It is of course recommended to do more as you are able, but the minimum 30 minutes a day will have dramatic health benefits.

Many people who don't get any exercise on a daily basis blame it on the fact that they just don't have the time for it. With our busy lives it might seem difficult to fit something in as seemingly pointless as a little physical activity when there's more important work to be done. In truth your body requires daily physical activity to remain healthy. It's not to remain strong in any way, but merely to maintain a certain level of health. Moving around for at least 45 minutes on a daily basis has been shown to have profound health impact on your body later in life and can help reduce the risk of diseases such as diabetes, high cholesterol and heart disease.
