Broken bones tend to heal at differing rates depending on the age of the person with the broken bone, which bone was broken and simply how quickly the body responds to the accident. In general, the bones in a child's body are much easier to heal due to the fact that their bones are smaller and their body is extremely active when it comes to repairing fractures. In an adult body, the same fracture could take over three times as long to heal. The bones are bigger and the body is a usually a little slow to respond.
This really depends on the bone that was broken, how it was broken and how long it took you to start caring for it. When it comes to fractures, the most severe kind of break, you should expect several weeks to fully repair a simple bone such as a rib or collar bone. But should you break a larger bone such as your tibia or other large bone, you should expect a recovery time of months and not weeks. With care however, broken bones can repair fully and regain their former strength and mobility.
